THE NEW BRAND OF SENTA
TASTE INSPIRED BY HISTORY
The adventure of a 'lost' painting
In the 1950's the city of Zenta announced a competition to reproduce the famous painting The Battle at Zenta (1896) by Eisenhut Ferenc. Besides 5 outstanding artists, the young Sava Stojkov had started his own work of art as an apprentice apart from the competition. Surprisingly, the evaluation committee chose the work of the young contestant to win, but the painting mysteriously disappeared later in the evening. 25 years later the retired doorman of the Sombor County Hall told Stojkov who had stolen his painting and where he could find it. After a quarter of a century, the 50-year-old artist re-encountered his long lost painting, which he had never finished on the advice of the contemporary professionals.
The wine is available in the office of the Tourist Organisation of Senta (Glavni trg 1.) and in the DiBonis Winery in Subotica (Trg Ugarnice 14.), or you can taste it in local restaurants.
