We are excited to announce a new chapter in the history of Senta!
We are delighted to share that the Tourism Organization of Senta has launched its latest project, supported by UNESCO, focusing on preserving cultural heritage and promoting sustainable tourism. The initiative aims to make our city's unparalleled historical treasures more visible while engaging our community actively in its implementation.
Key elements of the project:
• Exploring and preserving our historical heritage: Uncovering and safeguarding the remains of Senta's church dedicated to Saint Stephen, currently buried underground.
• Developing modern infrastructure: A modern glass structure will be built to protect the uncovered site, breathing new life into the surrounding area.
• Professional and educational programs: Organizing training sessions and workshops for local and international experts to contribute to long-term heritage preservation and tourism development.
International collaboration:
The project is being realized through the joint efforts of Senta, Bečej (Serbia), and Petrovac na Moru (Montenegro), further strengthening regional cooperation.
Why is this project important?
• Strengthening our identity: Preserving cultural heritage is not only about honoring the past but also about building a brighter future for our community.
• Tourism and urban development: Modern infrastructure and uncovered historical sites enhance Senta's attractiveness as a tourist destination.
• Community engagement: This project will raise awareness about heritage preservation among over 100,000 people and involve many community members in our programs.
UNESCO support:
The project is fully funded by UNESCO, ensuring high-quality implementation and professional support.
We believe that preserving the past is key to building the future! Join us on this exciting journey and follow the project's progress on our page!
